Would you like to be a volunteer? Do you want to improve the treatment of victims in the criminal justice system and reduce the risk of a secondary victimization? Join our incredible community of volunteers at the Justice centre for victims of crimes.

Why: Gain professional experience in the field of criminal justice on the needs, expectations and rights of victims.

 

Who: University students in Canadian law or at the École du Barreau and university students in criminology in Quebec.

 

Tasks: In a team of 2 people, one volunteer specialized in law and the other specialized in criminology, you meet victims who contact the Clinic for help. The volunteer specialized in law relays the legal information to the victim. The volunteer specialized in criminology transmits information on the victim's accompaniment and, if necessary, directs them to victim assistance services.

 

Duration of the commitment: Approximately 3 to 6 hours per week for a period of 3 months.

 

Before meeting the victims, volunteers will undergo brief training to prepare for the role.
